Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM) offers dedicated bandwidth at an affordable price
EFM bridges the gap between Broadband and Leased lines, offering an excellent combination of speed and resilience. EFM is uncontended, meaning you are not sharing bandwidth with other users at peak times; EFM is also symmetrical, so you don’t have a high download speed but low upload speed – it’s equal in both directions, ranging from 2Mbps to 35Mbps. EFM is also faster and cheaper to deploy than a Leased Line, and comes with an equivalent SLA to Fibre Ethernet, ensuring peace of mind.
Key Benefits of EFM
EFM can provide up to 35Mbps symmetrical bandwidth - no restricted upload speeds, so incoming and outgoing traffic get equal priority. Unlike broadband, EFM is an uncontended (1:1) service with unlimited usage; at peak times, and when internet traffic rises, you won’t be competing with others for bandwidth.
Rapid deployment - EFM uses the existing copper connections into your building, so it’s quick to deploy and doesn’t require digging up the road.
EFM provides a resilient architecture for delivery of bandwidth as it is provided over multiple bonded copper circuits - if one circuit fails then the others will continue to operate. Each EFM service comes with a 6 hour fix SLA, backed by 24/7 support from Pinnacle.
